Love this thread. Simple idea for what verification should be: you are who you claim to be. Not a popularity contest, not subject to black box decisions of platform owners, not handed out only to the famous and well off.

Our view is that verification is first and foremost about social proof that an account is who they claim to be. It's not about follower numbers, 'public profile' or other vanity metrics. We want social media where everyone can verify their account 👇
