Eurosky Social
This is a big deal: a European-hosted new application layer for the AT Protocol / Bluesky network. You can now create an account on the network and interact with anyone on it entirely without entering US jurisdiction.
Love this thread. Simple idea for what verification should be: you are who you claim to be. Not a popularity contest, not subject to black box decisions of platform owners, not handed out only to the famous and well off.

And a proper update from Modal!
How about a bonus feature on mu? Directly RSVP to events from a post!
all at mu.social
I'm especially keen to build up lists of global majority and non-English sources. Working on a logic for it and then may start soliciting suggestions.
Am excited to start working on extending and building more granular filters for news sources. This group is a great start. Am gonna start by using search.mediacloud.org datasets. But a list of news sources could become overwhelming. A work in progress.
Everything we're able to do at @eurosky.social is by working with some of the most talented people in the Atmosphere đđ

Eurosky Social
And...3 of 3 for the week. Introducing mu.social, Europe's first microblogging app on atproto, brought to you by @eurosky.social and @modalfoundation.eurosky.social! European stack, connected to the world.
mu.social launches with post editing, a news tab, and distributed verification â things Bluesky could ship, but is busy chasing other squirrels.
Build what people want early, iterate, get better. Get a head start.
Proper offshoot survival path.
