Best trap for almost a week. A tired Lilac Beauty was pick of 29/21 this morning. But nice to see 3 migrants too: Bordered Straw, Silver Y and Diamond-back. Wonder if there are any Eastern Bordered Straw still kicking about...
I hope so.

While pottering in the garden this afternoon, a knackered-looking Pearly Underwing popped out onto a piece of wood and politely waited while I hurried for a pot. Along with last night's Dark Sword-grass, that's two new, dull-brown migrants for the garden. They all count. 😎

Breezy, but mild and overcast brought the numbers up again. A fresh Barred Yellow was prettiest moth of last night's 6 NFG amongst 90/36. Migrants represented by single Small Mottled Willow and Silver Y. Dark Arches mob-handed now, with 17 blundering around. 😁

Just 17/13 this morning, but did include this Wood Carpet, a new moth for me. Along with NFG Uncertain, brings the garden total to 248 for the year. In the current cool weather, that number is growing very slowly!

Moth-trap bycatch rarely gets the attention it probably deserves, but resemblance to some kind of alien lifeform will do it! Issus coleoptratus, an apparently common planthopper/child's nightmare rolled into one...
#TeamMoth (tentatively) 😁
A bit wet, windy and cool last night, but still a few moths. 3 NFG included this stonking Privet Hawk-moth, plus a new migrant in the shape of Dark Sword-grass.

Apple Leaf-miner making a little plastic pot look enormous. One of 3 NFG (with Dwarf Cream Wave and Single-dotted Wave) among 72/42 last night.
Still migs about: 5 Sm Mottled Willow, 2 Silver Y, Rusty-dot Pearl and Diamond-back.

Forecast of torrential rain all night almost put me off, but the trap went out regardless. I expected little or nothing. Well, the rain came, but so did this fab Lilac Beauty. Only ever saw one in Bridport, and it certainly wasn't as mint as this.😎
33/18 including 3 NFG

The night of Sunday, 10th May was cold and clear. A bit of 'trap monitoring' before bed had drawn a blank, but no doubt there would be ...
