I don't think using fiction as an avatar for your own wish fulfiment is invalid but it is weird to me that it seems to have become normalized that the point of fiction is wish fulfiment. And by weird I mean an intentional shift to make art a product of consumer gratification first and foremost.

social media that's bad for minors is obviously bad for adults too. crazy to me that the move seems to be to just accept that and ban minors rather than regulate the obvious design patterns that were put in there on purpose which make it harmful to its users
