"Send more people through. It's testable. If the results are repeatable, we'll have consensus without faith."
I have thought to all ends and tried to figure out why Sagan landed on this ending and nothing works for me. The machine still exists. It has a "self sealing door" that is beyond our knowledge. That says "cancer dude on MIR didn't prank this." And all they have to do is repeat the experiment.
