Congratulations to my @umnlawschool.bsky.social colleague Jack Whiteley for this recognition by @lsolum.bsky.social of his new article, available @ssrn.bsky.social (at least for now). Highly recommended!

Jack Whiteley (University of Minnesota School of Law), Property’s Climate, 111 Minn. L. Rev. (forthcoming 2026) on SSRN. Here is the abstract: Over the past two centuries, property jurisprudence has encouraged climate change through decisions that were not required by private property rights. In disputes between landowners over coal and oil, courts crafted rules that spurred carbon emissions. And in disputes over land, courts developed doctrines that diminished forests.

Welcome, @jkosseff.bsky.social, to the University of Minnesota!
I read a draft of this new article from @emilysbremer.bsky.social. It was fascinating. Can't wait to read the expanded version. Highly recommended.
Congratulations & best wishes to the @umnlawschool.bsky.social Class of 2026, & esp my RA Mitchell! Well done all and don't be strangers!
