Congrats to the other finalists, including fellow exoneree Calvin Duncan (The Jailhouse Lawyer). If you haven't read FREE yet, please consider it! I also narrate the audiobook. If you have read it, please recommend it to a friend! www.amandaknox.com/store/p3/FRE...
I could not be more thrilled that my work is being honored alongside books on the war in Ukraine, the prosecution of Nazi war criminals, and the civil rights movement. www.daytonliterarypeaceprize.org/2026-awards/
Honored to learn that my book, FREE, is a finalist for the Dayton Literary Peace Prize! FREE tells the story of my return to Italy to meet my prosecutor. It's about building bridges across seemingly impossible divides and extending compassion to those who've harmed us.
If you don't accurately know an infant's weight, you can't administer the proper amount of food or medicine. Lucy Letby spoke up about these conditions. She's now rotting in prison. Meanwhile, the hospital administration and NHS have not faced consequences.
Abysmal conditions (sewage leaking from the pipes), they were understaffed, their staff were undertrained, they were over capacity, taking on more and sicker babies than they could handle. And something I just learned from Clare and Carl: their weight scales were off.
There is no reliable evidence that Lucy harmed even a single infant. There is no motive. There is counter evidence that she was in fact a great nurse. There is copious evidence of an alternative explanation for the spike in deaths at the Countess of Chester hospital.
And maybe this can help you understand why, when I was asked recently if I would trust my own baby in Lucy Letby's care, my answer was: Yes.
There is so much vitriol directed not just at Lucy Letby, but at anyone who doubts her guilt. Clare and Carl were incredibly brave to come forward with their story. I hope you'll listen. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/c...
It simply makes no sense that a supposed serial killer, with perfect opportunity, at the height of her killing spree, would not merely spare a potential victim, but go out of her way to save her. She never even asked for recognition for this.
