i used to work at polk audio as a test engineering intern which is why i will always own polk speakers - i truly know them inside and out lol. i bought a pair of LSi7s off ebay for like $350 which is incredible
you can put a decca tree and a spaced pair in a great concert hall or you can mike every single instrument in a crappy one. both are recording engineering but i'm here to save time and labor
but also the thing is that once i realized that room acoustics matter more than anything else i stopped caring about speakers immediately. immaculate speakers in a dogshit room is a waste of life
