I'm grateful to the City Council for their work on this data center moratorium, and I look forward to signing it into law.

After so many years of delays, deferrals, and broken promises, we can at last deliver the equitable transit access that Rainier Valley residents deserve. I hope other Sound Transit Board members will support our amendment tomorrow and move Graham Street forward at last.
I'm glad we were able to promptly respond to community concerns about the potential impacts of large-load data centers on utility rates and the environment, and I look forward to working together with Council and community members on a long-term approach to these issues.

In solidarity with community organizers who have fought to build the Graham Street Station for more than a decade, County Executive Zahilay @girmayzahilay.bsky.social and I today announced a plan to finally deliver this project to the community.
Our tax dollars belong in our community, and I want to thank members of the King County Council and the Seattle City Council for the collaborative effort between our governments to ensure Seattle taxpayers got a fair deal in the process.
