It is with a heavy heart that we collectively honor the life of Emmanuel Damas today.
To lose a father, son, brother, friend is a grief no person should have to bear, and certainly not under such horrific circumstances.
My heart goes out to Mr. Damas’s family and friends and our Haitian and Dorchester communities.
Everyone impacted deserves healing and accountability, and I won’t stop pushing for answers. It is what Emmanuel deserves.
When we affirm the brilliance, the beauty, and the voices of young girls, we are investing in a stronger and more just future for all of us.
