"Almost £800m has been spent on so-called "curtailment" payments so far this year, putting 2026 on course to eclipse the £1.4bn spent on switching off turbines last year"

This is the important bit.
Investing in using it, can reduce that cost of having it.
So invest in electrifying energy users.
Controlled power output.
Investment in storage, electrification and grid connections will make the clean electricity sources more usefull.
Less cost below the rate where it used a subsidized energy cost even towards negative prices.
Like there is almost no electrolyzing capacity, yet gray hydrogen
That's nonsense of course as shown with China who will have more nuclear reactors the the USA in a few years.
But many are still stuck in the disinformation from anti-nuclear groups like Greenpeace.
More Candu!
Atleast you are honest on your Opinion.
My Opinion we will not achieve netzero @2C without nuclear.
We will not achieve Netzero by 2050 for the world at all.
Poland moves ahead with plan for second nuclear plant.
No that's way to simple to wave all those changes away.
And of course there are requirement changes.
These also happened with the Chinese EPR.
With the UK-EPR, the increase in build and time cost , has let to much higher price and for now build time then in China.
Would start with sustainable sources, not the ill-defined RE-sources.
Almost agree, except for the irreplacable.
You do not need virgin-materials.
Netzero also doesn't require 100% non-fossil, though that makes it much easier.
The requirement is 5% of 1990* CO2eq.
