For real. Events in life don't fit a nice narrative, it's always nice to get something different with your favorite characters.
Also, every episode moving The Plot often makes for overly protracted stories, or can make everything tedious because it's all one thing that continues forever

Recommend to watch it anyway, always though it was one of the best show finales. They filmed for season 4 and then moved to season 5. The one that's the end season 4 is an insert, hence strange time skip structure
Watch the finale though if you have a chance. It's the original finale of the show, then they got a new.season, filmed a new finale, and moved the first one to the end of season 5
It was originally Takashima's storyline - she was the second saboteur in The Gathering. She also would've shot Garibaldi in the back. It was the way to Game of Thrones the character while letting actress go to do other stuff because she had promising career
