NEW: Premier Danielle Smith has written a letter to Calgary city council urging them to consult with affected stakeholders on the noise exemptions for this year's Stampede.
It asks for a response by June 30 so the province can evaluate if it has a role "to resolve this issue" ahead of the Stampede
