#booktok writing is hard, but the worst part is writing something you are proud of and having no one care. You send way too much money and you can't even get people to read it.
It makes finishing the series harder, because the only one who cares is me.

When you start a new fantasy series, there's a fair question readers should ask right away:
Is this going somewhere... or am I about to get emotionally invested in seven books of "mystery" that ends with the author shrugging and walking away?
