Could not be more proud to work at @umisr.bsky.social, whose motto is "social science in the public interest."

Bat signal going up for @shayobrien.bsky.social!
Yep. Shout out to Sheldon Danziger and Yu Xie, who read more drafts of my dissertation chapters than I care to remember. My only rule is that, if I'm not the chair, I'll read once for every time your chair has already read it.
Congratulations Aaron! I remember very clearly the Zoom call in which he said: "So, I think soil quality can be used as an instrument for housing development..."
New social media takeover alert! Tomorrow, our own @umichstonecid.bsky.social postdoc @zhenghaowen.bsky.social will be sharing her experiences at #PAA2026 on Friday and Saturday.🥳 Learn about Haowen and her work at: haowenzhg.github.io
Had a blast at the @sociologicalsci.bsky.social conference at @stanfordsoc.bsky.social last week, which allowed me to both gaze at Rodins & argue that sociologists should try to run our departments as if we believe scholarship on how to have equitable organizations.

The Stone Center at MIT is hiring another postdoc! This is a GREAT job: the work is interesting and creative, and you’ll have time for your own research, too. I think a sociologist or historian working on technology/inequality (broadly defined) would be an especially good fit!!
@icpsr.bsky.social is looking for a new Director. If you have archival experience or are a prominent researcher who uses archival data, then this may be the job for you! careers.umich.edu/job_detail/2...

Social science matters. Supporting the infrastructure for social science matters. That's why we've awarded the BBVA Frontiers of Knowledge Award for the first time to institutions, not individuals: @umisr.bsky.social and @norc.org Many congratulations from the award jury! shorturl.at/hu2yd

PLEASE SHARE: Serious request for a future scientific collaboration. Do I know any historians/sociologists who works with, or love working with historic ego documents. Diaries, letters, notes, etc. Especially those that describe real, or wished for, romantic partners/interests? email me, DM me!
I totally see that point. Personally, if the idea was mine and I write the first draft I presume to be on it. otherwise, as an advisor I don’t have many rules about how many times I’d read and comment. My phd advisor read my first pub 20+ times because I was so insecure abt sending it out.
