This one's from Legend, book 4 in The Caein Legacy. There are a number of battles in this book, so "blade" is used a few times. (For those unfamiliar with the series, Andrew is one of the "unnatural folk.")

MC's favorite childhood memory
Most of my MCs don't reflect on their early years.
Sal'zar (The Ballad of Alchemy & Steel) is an exception. His best memory is the day he met Jal'den. They were 10, Jal'den saved him from bullies, and they became best friends (and more later on)
