To be clear, all of them are worth following on their own, many of them have great content, but I have to take care of my own sanity first of all. So if you are one of those I am going to unfollow in the following days, don't take it personally, please. I wish you well.
The Great Unfollowing is about to begin!
I follow too many accounts. The resulting firehose of messages is just too much for me to handle, if I want to have an actual life outside of bluesky! So I am going to start unfollowing a number of accounts.
Bluesky is my first and so far only experience with modern social media. It has been interesting, but takes up too much time and effort. I will not quit, but must scale it back severely.
This saying is commonly used in Norway, probably because in Norwegian, it rhymes:
Det finnes ikke dårlig vær, bare dårlige klær.
Confirmation that my decision earlier this year to cancel my subscription to Washington Post was the right one. So sad to see it being flushed down the toilet. 💩
Forget “standing ovations”, international articles—all with the literally same headline “of unity” as if it came via memo (have you noticed?).. watch Kaja Kallas’ face.
Minor irritant that drives me crazy:
Gadgets with batteries and a USB-C charging port, but which can only be charged from a USB-A charger.
Just discovered that apparently, the @waterfox.net browser does not recognise let's encrypt's R12 certificate, see (letsencrypt.org/certificates/).
How come? And can I add it to the chain of trust myself? (On MacOS.)
All because the manufacturer neglected to install a resistor that a USB-C charger can sense to know that there is a chargeable device at the other end of the cable. 😡
