Totally true. Reminded me of a great article by @hitpoints.bsky.social (newsletter.hitpoints.co/374-blue-note/) that talked about how we're letting algorithms curate our taste. I've noticed it and pulled away from it, because this passive discovery is not even enjoyable. I want to choose what I like

when you have a creative project that fails to attract larger visibility, you usually never really know why - it's diffuse, and arbitrary. there are people who get lots of capital by trying to sell answers and make sense of the senseless. but the worst thing you could do is believe in the algorithm
