Do the labels actually matter so much? I think we can all agree that being able to do a new thing in the moment, in the lesson when it has just been taught is distinct from being able to exercise that same skill in a different context at a later date and that it's the latter ability we should test.

When I lived in Paris and rented an apartment from a German film-maker, along with other crazy decorations and furniture was an Eames Chair (although I wouldn't have known until a visiting friend pointed it out). I did spend a lot of time sitting in it :-)

Monday's TGT wishes Courteney Cox a happy birthday. You could discuss Friends or the Springsteen video, but maybe discuss that Cox & Danny Dyer are 20-odd times removed cousins thanks to their common ancestor William The Conqueror, along with maybe 5m others alive today! bit.ly/TutorGroupThink

Tonight England play in the World Cup. And tomorrow the by-election will decide the next British Prime Minister. So at this crucial moment in the nation's history, I have written an open letter to you all, Dear Makerfield: open.substack.com/pub/countbin...
Thursday's TGT goes back >800 years to 5 monks in Canterbury who thought they'd seen the moon explode! In 1976 Jack Hartung thought their account could have been the formation of one of the moon's youngest craters; Giordano Bruno. Probably wasn't though. bit.ly/TutorGroupThink
Friday's TGT wishes Happy Birthday to the highest box-office grossing actor of all time, Zoe Saldaña. Discuss whether this title means anything given her roles in several big franchises. But she's got more strings to her bow and her Oscar was won for a Spanish language film. bit.ly/TutorGroupThink
