I had a fun time chatting about a really cool #poopscience study with @beebrookshire.bsky.social!
In a time where so many politicians have abandoned the climate crisis as a central part of their platforms, it’s really exciting to see this kind of full-throated leadership from a major party candidate for governor.
Congratulations to @hannahpingree.bsky.social, Maine’s next Democratic candidate for governor! She’s an environmental policy expert who co-led Maine’s Climate Council and developed our Maine Won’t Wait plan. Climate action and accountability for corporate polluters are a cornerstone of her platform.

Establishing a human colony on Mars is fraught with risk. Why are so many people obsessed with achieving it?
Do K-12 students still color in the parts of cells? Is this a memory you have? If I made a reference to coloring the golgi bodies and endoplasmic reticulum, would that be something that evokes a familiar memory?
This is great news! Thank you to everyone who helped to sound the alarm or contacted their reps to fight this. I’m no sure what will happen to the sensors already pulled from off the coast of Washington, but the rest of the network is saved for now.
Keep fighting! It matters!
Don’t forget to take action on the proposed OMB rules! Public comments, contacting your societies or environmental nonprofits, contacting your Congresspeople, etc.

🧵 Public science in the US has taken some heavy hits over the last year, but the White House OMB is proposing a series of changes that will result in a TKO for science as we know it unless we fight back. Here's what's happening, and why it matters. 1/n
