Sigh. ...Online sales bans of e-cigarettes failed to reduce US youth nicotine vaping because there is overwhelming evidence almost none of the ever-declining number of kids who vape get their products online. #Duh. Online sales are to adults. Not teens. And legislators are grandstanding idiots.

I put evidence together from different sources and look at it. Cause and effect are difficult to know, but: (1) what is happening is consistent with Product Substitution (2) the drop in lung cancer is real. Not up for debate. If anyone wants links to these reports, I'm happy to share them.
Top: How old-school Tobacco Control views the world Bottom: The key stakeholders whose voices are NEVER heard
The field of Tobacco Control is the only field of public health that makes the public more misinformed, rather than better-informed about health risks.

1985: 3 Austrian vineyards started "cutting" their wine with antifreeze to get a higher price. Most countries banned all Austrian wine. Japan banned Australian wine too, just to be sure. And that is exactly how stupid US commissary (exchanges) policy is now. www.linkedin.com/pulse/milita...
Wonderful interview with Derek Yach. Extremely thoughtful, very well informed. Future of tobacco harm reduction @algore09algor.bsky.social @ianamossyd.bsky.social @igas2.bsky.social @jmenezes.bsky.social @chancethegardener.bsky.social @jgitchell.bsky.social open.substack.com/pub/profette...
5/6 What caused ~250 recent arson attacks of Australian retailers? If sky high cigarette excise didn’t cause Oz illegal supply boom, what did? @algore09algor.bsky.social @igas2.bsky.social @ianamossyd.bsky.social @chancethegardener.bsky.social @clivebates.bsky.social @jgitchell.bsky.social
Anti tobacco harm reduction activists now demonise nicotine even though Nicotine Replacement Therapy on WHO’s Essential Medicines List? Flagrant contradiction! #GFN26 @chancethegardener.bsky.social @jgitchell.bsky.social @algore09algor.bsky.social @neurograce.bsky.social @ianamossyd.bsky.social
What if (just hypothetically) everything we have been told about nicotine for the past 40 years is wrong? What if it was just a tactic to achieve a good goal (reduce smoking) but a lie? Vidcast with people who WANT to reduct smoking but also care about the truth... www.youtube.com/live/cTWmzix...

What CDC/FDA surveys show for 2011-2025: Teen vaping went up, down, up, then down 74% Teen smoking "mysteriously" dropped 90% to near nil Teen nicotine use dropped 56% What anti-vapers tell the public: "Smoking dropped, BUT vaping increased" 🙄 "Ecigs are the most commonly used nicotine product" 🙄

Online sales bans of e-cigarettes failed to reduce youth vaping. Cato’s Jeffrey Miron writes that young people rarely bought online to begin with, shifting to in-person instead. Policy that restricts choice without achieving its goal always ends up unsuccessful. https://ow.ly/LC9A50Zehbc

In 2019, military exchanges pulled e-cigarettes during a lung-injury emergency. The evidence has since shown what actually drove that emergency — and the regulatory landscape has changed.
