And Australians are shortly going to have to do this with ON voters. I know we’re all on Bluesky posting about politics 20 hours a day, but most people are utterly disengaged from politics and civic life generally, and if you don’t internalise that you’ll go insane
This is very nice and wholesome but there’s a lot of comments like “people are good, it’s just our governments that are shitty” and you really need to grapple with the fact that your charming, friendly, decent average Joes are also entirely capable of voting for Trump
The replies and quotes to this are a demonstration that many Americans hold the misapprehension they are the only multicultural country in the world
(*not a criticism of Democrats since they didn’t start it)
