Anyway, I think the point is -- work on your white brethren and sistren in TX on this race and stop scolding Black voters in particular. You said their candidate was not "electable." So work YOUR asses off to elect the alternative and stop demanding labor from others.
To me, the larger fight is to upend patriarchy and racism. Yeah, Talarico is better than Paxton, no question! (And less objectionable than Adolf Titler). HOWEVER: if one is concerned (AS ONE SHOULD BE!) with the push to center white men AGAIN as the voice of the party, then LISTEN TO BLACK WOMEN.
Malcolm is correct in all of his comments.
If I lived in Texas, of course I'd vote for Talarico. I'm probably gonna donate and write postcards, for that matter. HOWEVER: there are legitimate reasons for Black voters (Black women in particular) to feel that they have been overlooked and disregarded and are now being asked to do more. 1/2
That “Strong independent Black Women” label has caused me a lot of grief. People automatically decided that the strong and independent don’t need help. Here’s to Black women struggling in silence, we don’t deserve this.
He understands better than you do from what I read. I’ve noticed and been shocked by the sudden hatred of AIPAC and it didn’t take me long to get that it was the next phase of antisemitism and jew bashing. It’s soooo clear.
