Carbon credit markets suffer from quality issues, information asymmetry, and lack of fungibility:
- Credits often fail to provide claimed environmental benefits
- Good credits are difficult to distinguish from bad
- Credits traded as identical instruments often represent different outcomes

We demonstrate that applying the standard Ricardian approach leads to biased results. To address this, we propose a method that explicitly incorporates the age structure of the forest stand.
