I am adjusting my goal to 1.5x costs or better.
I am using this profit goal to make decisions about how much inventory to bring (can't sell what you don't have!), how to think about bundle pricing, and also additional add-on goodies (something I've found convention attendees really enjoy).
I know-
some businesses consider conventions almost entirely marketing and not something they need to make money doing but at my size and running things mostly solo, these events need to do more than break even for me rn to be worth it imo. ymmv.
