Huge missing piece in responsible politics today is to make people FEEL like they are being governed. Even if you are governing them, in a crisis of trust it’s very understandable for citizens to feel like there is nobody behind the wheel. So show them that you are there.
A paradox of our age of mistrust is that suboptimal decisions are the essence of democracy but now feel like betrayal.
