Abuse and exploitation is built into the roots of the TTRPG industry. It doesn't have to be like this. I don't really know the path out of it because I keep coming back to "audiences need to do better" which is pretty difficult to make actionable.

"We aren't making the money to justify commerce"
I have said similar things in the past but not as clear and not as well. The amount of burnout and harm this scene produces is overtly high for how small and industry it is. We should not be competing with the videogame industry in breaking creatives
The trailer for Scary Movie 6 they showed in the theater opens with a 5 second reference to the Backrooms and then is a minute and a half of anti-woke humor. We all know it's going to be shit but I was still dumbfounded by how it's not even committed to the Scary part of Scary Movie.
SEXTROCITY
Nazi punching shows and plays great, but it's also an unrealistic fantasy. And one that is largely accepted by capital because it caricaturizes nazis such that respectable fascists can better camouflage themselves.
Sometimes I fear that our obsession with bombastic Wolfenstein emulation takes away from energy that could be focused on ttrpgs about breaking fascist bedrock through "real" methods like community building and sabotage.

“Feel free to retract your post” was said to me this morning. And people get mad if I say hobbyists are bad at reading. Look at the frame from Alice I picked for the other post’s thumbnail. There’s…
“No amount of layout, bullet pointing and simplification will ever reach those who hate reading. It will only enable them.“
Using Monday for its intended purpose: to make enemies.

Alice, dir. Jan Švankmajer. TTRPGs are a primarily literary hobby. This statement has many implications. Foremost that it is communicated through text.
I have repeatedly said that I'll start being interested in anti-fascist ttrpgs when they try something really boundary pushing like sabotaging Operation Paperclip.
