Brennan Center explains how to file to determine if they have any records of fees owed, and in 90 days they either need to deny you or send you something saying nothing in their records should prevent you from registering. Pain in the ass, but a process at least.
Their argument is consistently Article II powers supercede Article I; that if Congress says "Trump does not have the authority to unilaterally set tariffs" with a veto-proof majority Sauer would say that is an unconstitutional violation of the inherent powers of the office (even though it is false.)

Not sure if anything happened yesterday but there was drama here like a year ago that Bouie was unwilling to resign from the NYT over their anti-trans coverage (arguing rightly that the people asking for it aren't offering to feed his family and would make one less voice on their side in the paper.)
