you do have to wonder whether perhaps the outsized reaction cis guys like this have to transmasc folks is the fear of what happens if a framework of masculinity that isn’t centered on violence, dominance or patriarchy ever took root more broadly. they would have no way to define themselves as people
they don’t like being reminded that things like being toxic and violent are choices, which other men aren’t making, because that just draws attention to the fact that they ARE quite deliberately choosing it. they need it to feel biologically immutable and core to their nature to justify it
