AUSA Sheri Mecklenburg appears to be on what I would characterize as a crime spree
In 2012, 30 states allowed no-excuse mail-in voting. In 2016, 8 states saw more than a fourth of voters send in their ballots. Taibbi has either gotten a lot dumber, or he just doesn't give a shit anymore.
This is wild: essentially every LLM—ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini—keeps using the same character when asked to make up a story, a guy called 'Elias Thorne'. He appears so much it's impacting Google Trends data and the self-published book market. Now we might know why www.404media.co/elias-thorne...
It isn't about who is deserving. It's about whether civilized societies permit the the government to carry out premeditated killings (they do not), and whether the government is capable of doing so fairly, justly, and under equal protection of the law (there is zero evidence that it is).
I’ve also noticed lately that YouTube is full of nutty videos narrated by an AI-generated David Attenborough.

Hard to stress how important screw worm eradication was for the Texas cattle industry modernization back in the 1960s and 1970s.

#BREAKING Federal prosecutors in Chicago have moved to permanently dismiss charges against two defendants in a fraud case tied to Loretto Hospital in what appears to be a bid to avoid a hearing over prosecutorial misconduct before a grand jury:
Dana Bash: "Sources tell CNN that President Trump is growing more and more furious, especially this week, after he ordered new strikes in Iran. They say he felt both Tehran and the media didn't view US military action as powerful enough, so he ordered another round of strikes yesterday."
New data reveals that New World Screwworm, a severely dangerous flesh-eating maggot, is spreading throughout Texas. This comes months after Ken Paxton supported cutting Screwworm monitoring programs.
