it's basically the number one rule to any medium ; you can't just tunnel-vision and pigeon hold yourself into a corner. that niche may feel comfortable but it's stifling and prevents you from seeing "the bigger picture" in any sort of artistic/cultural context

controversial statement; this has far less to do with engine tech and for more to do with what skills are more easily trainable in a broad population. Technical parameterized realism is one of the easiest things to systematize so the labor market for realism is much deeper with lots of documentation

I haven't really showed off much of the game lately so here's a cool fog card effect done by fellow dev VeeSaus (who does not have an account on here), it's an additive effect that fades out the closer you get to the card. So we can do fake volumetrics with it. Very cool !
