Ratios are fine for yardsticks in the schoolhouse but most battles have been fought with closer to a 1:1 ratio despite the oft but ill cited rule being 3:1 for offensive advantage. (Ratios remove contextual analysis, which good commanders need) Also last I checked Desert Storm/Shield was a victory
