IMO it’s not dead, we’ve just capitulated.
Lotta folks on here don’t seem to understand the psychological differences between quitting and losing.
Nor do they understand the damage previous losses did to this country.
If only there was a profession you could train in to understand that.

Also due to communications issues and limits the Battle of New Orleans let Andy Jackson pretend the USA won because he was gift-wrapped a victory by a stupid fucking British general and didn't screw it up. The USA was happy to pretend with him.
