Host killing by necrotrophs is really complex. Using a 29-gene knockout series in Botrytis cinerea, we show that removing nearly all known cell death-inducing proteins and major phytotoxins is not sufficient to prevent host necrosis. Check out the paper: www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...
New paper from @hennilaessle.bsky.social & Jane @parkergroup.bsky.social at the @mpipz.bsky.social in Cologne. They show that TIR-only proteins, conserved between Arabidopsis & Barley, function by triggering PTI defenses independently of NLRs/ETI. #PlantScience #PlantImmunity #EvoMPMI
An interesting article about the history of the Koala phys.org/news/2026-06...
⏳ Only 2 days left for poster abstract submissions considered for a poster talk at #BT2026, the International Conference of our @plantsciencedbg.bsky.social (DBG) 🚨 Deadline is 11 June 2026, 23:59 (CEST)
Find the latest version of SuperPlotsOfData here: uva-nl.shinyapps.io/SuperPlotsOf... It supports multi-file upload and now has the option to jitter the large dots (mean of median of replicates) No jitter Jitter
Here is our contribution to this lovely special issue. Together with talented PhD students Gabriel and Mung Hsia, we discussed when and how pattern-triggered immunity had been established in plants. doi.org/10.1016/j.cu... @watertoland.bsky.social @mpipz.bsky.social
🌾 Speed matters in plant breeding! Developing a new variety takes about 10–12 years. To respond faster to disease pressure and the changing climate, one of the tools we use to speed up breeding is double‑haploid production. Watch how it works 👇 youtu.be/goFaLR_GMVg?...
