June might have seemed cool so far in England but statistically the Hadley mean-to-date Central England Temperature for example hasn't even dipped below the 1991-2020 average.
It'll be heading upward soon. Perhaps by a lot (00z GFS was an extreme scenario but I plotted it out of interest).

Parts of western Europe are about to experience a mid-June heatwave that could challenge July record high temperatures.
This is a big deal considering July is typically about 2°C warmer than June there (& across most of Europe).
Note: Numbers are in Kelvin which are 273.15 higher than the equivalent in degrees Celsius. The plotting program doesn't offer an option to change the units from what they are in the raw dataset.
