I'm pretty proud of my 14.
Things are challenging for him. He has autism and crippling anxiety. He deals with Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder. He dislikes change and most physical sensations. He gets overwhelmed easily, especially in public.
He's kicking ass this week.
My sinuses feel like they're mad at me.
This is what @highnessophelia.bsky.social and I lock the bedroom door for:
Some days I don't get any, sometimes I get 30 in a row from the same person, usually they are just sprinkled in a few times a day. Definitely not in the 100s. I'd probably delete the app at that point. Sometimes it's overwhelming and I don't have time or energy to respond to them all.
He had a doctor appointment and discovered that despite growing almost 2 inches in the last year, he's lost two pounds. Since the appointment, he's willingly eaten a couple of different things and actually enjoyed them.
I feel like he's slowly coming out of whatever hermit phase he's been in since his dad moved out. π€
That's a lot of change in a pretty short period and, while he is not excited about any of it, he is handling it pretty well.
I've seen a few smiles this week and we even had a couple of real conversations (not his favorite thing).
Then today, he chopped off about 6 inches of hair in his first real haircut since lockdown.
Tuesday he gets braces on to correct a severe under bite.
And then in the fall, he'll start attending public school for his math classes.
