Whatever good intentions people may have, the road to hell is paved with them. I do not doubt for one second that what Labour sees here is an opportunity to relieve the state of the financial burden certain lives represent to them. Their treatment of vulnerable minorities is why I now oppose this.

Half of UK welfare is pensions, 1 in 3 people on Universal Credit are in work, disabled people are disabled, more of them since Covid hit, but the welfare bill as % of GDP is stable (lower than most developed countries) and is forecast to stay stable and below OECD average for the next 5 years.
