165 Calgarian hit by a person driving an SUV died at the scene. These are not just numbers these are fellow Calgarians!
Please write your councillor and ask that they act quickly using all the tools available to implement safer roads before more Calgarians get hit.
We also need safer road design in #yyc.
Lower speed limits. If a car hits you at a slower speed you are less likely to die or be seriously injured.
Physically separate different speeds. Keeping different modes like walking, wheeling and driving separated with physical barriers keeps us all safer.
I don’t want anymore Calgarians to die on our roads.
We need government to start implementing safer road design and reducing the amount of dangerous cars on our roads.

This means discouraging vehicles that are likely to kill you such as trucks and SUVs.
These vehicles are designed to go over what they hit. You don’t walk away from that. A regular car is designed to scoop up what it hits allowing for a much higher chance of survival!
