Right now, I'm 80% pessimistic about the impact LLMs will have on CS education, and 20% optimistic that maybe, just maybe, we’ll figure out a way to figure it out and the kids will learn CS.
What info are apps taking in? How do we, as the humans behind the prompt, take responsibility for that data? The shift from "syntax writer" to "system overseer" is massive, and our educational frameworks aren't ready.
Is the question now: how do we teach the foundations? Students still need to understand how data structures work, what databases can do, and where the dangers lie. Even if we aren't writing lines of code, we are still the architects.
