SPA's mission, oft repeated on MPR ads, is "Shaping the minds and the hearts of the people who will change the world."
As in, only kids whose parents can afford $40k/year get to change the world.
"Shaping" includes censoring the student newspaper & allowing students to harass classmates.

I'm really thankful to my kids for giving me father's day off. Also to my sister Katrina for letting me borrow her camping gear. She's an accomplished bikepacker.
It's amazing to me that it's possible to have a wilderness bikepacking adventure without leaving the metro area.

Today I biked along the Minnesota river bottoms to the Louisville Swamp SW of Shakopee.
The Louisiana Swamp isn't super swampy. Most seems to be oak savanna that seems to have burned recently. There's a ruined farmsite called Jab's farm. Many of the trails are overgrown with sumac and raspberries.
I'm camping on the riverbank. There's no sign of civilization on either side of the river. Occasionally there's a loud sound like a boulder being thrown into the water. It's beavers. There's two beavers swimming around. 🦫
Also, I really like thistle flowers.

What is “the book” that everyone reads/refers to about your city, if there is one? Not the most encyclopedic history but e.g. (by my perception) The Power Broker for NYC, City of Quartz for LA, or Nature’s Metropolis for Chicago.
