While these budget cuts are awful, there is a lesson to be learned here. It was
LOUD
COMMUNITY
SUPPORT
that prevented these budgetary decisions from eliminating librarian staffing decisions from the equation.
Austin ISD librarians, students, and parents showed up and it worked. Kudos!
