Missed opportunity.
Case and point, うるさい is an i-adjective that means "loud/noisy". Japanese use it the same way English speakers use the transitive verb "shut up".
If the subtitles directly translated うるさい to "loud" when directed at a person, you'd kind of get the message but not what they're actually saying.
