Having studied the 'Miracles of Our Lady of Rocamadour' and having followed the 12th-century pilgrims in my mind as they wind their way up steep mountain tracks and over river gorges on their mules or horses, I was delighted to discover that the terrain around Rocamadour is exactly as I imagined!

Founded in response to the discovery of the relics of a hermit, St Amadour. However, it became a famous pilgrimage destination in the 12th century when numerous miracles were attributed to a statue of Our Lady of Rocamadour.
