Even if you get that bunt down, you've got a big strikeout guy up next
Bunting is dumb.
So did Joey Ortiz
I don't align with *any* of Jeremy Clarkson's politics. But I love old Top Gear for the cars. Clarkson's Farm seasons 1-4 was (mostly) his best work in years largely because he made himself the butt of the jokes. This season was Tory preachy and didn't work at all. Hope he gets well nonetheless.
Another element right now is the climate. Only a few teams need a PG now & that is combined with a deep draft for PGs. Next 2 drafts are way weaker, and some of the guys picked this year will flame out. Don't know if that means demand for him at 55M will be better, but likely more palatable openings
Still think most likely outcome is: 2026-2027: Fox starts, plays 30mpg & Harper wins 6th man playing ~34 mpg & finishing tight games. 2027-2028: Harper starts, Fox plays 25-30 mpg off bench in Manu role. Summer 2028: team looks to move Fox for expiring deals and/or broken up into multiple players
Just that, for this offseason, it's much easier to move him in the next week than it is July-October. So, if you've made the decision to move him (which I doubt they have chosen), it probably happens in the next 11 days or he's a Spur opening night.
To me, the only scenario where it makes sense is if it happens in the next week, because they think they can fill a need with his number where it is now vs. $50M+. Vecenie threw out Wiggins as a name. But I'd bank that he's a Spur through at least 2027-2028.
If you think his value will go into decline from here & there is a deal to be made, that's the only scenario where I see them moving off him this summer. But, beyond financial reasons, if you move him now - another ballhandling creator becomes an instant top need.
Steal might be generous. But somebody will be willing to take the veteran leader of the two time defending champions (🤞) to fill their hole at PG without making the Spurs attach additional assets We are aligned.
