This week is #UncontactedPeoplesWeek!
There are Indigenous peoples across the world who reject contact with outsiders – and that choice must be respected. That’s why this week we want to make clear: They are not alone.
They are surrounded by the abundance of their forests and supported by Indigenous neighbors and the international community.
🗣️ As Indigenous leader Davi Kopenawa from the Yanomami people says: “They have the same blood as us. (…) We all breathe the same air. They are suffering just like we are.”
#UncontactedPeoplesWeek is coming!
Did you know that from June 15th to 21st, Survival is marking Uncontacted Peoples Week?
It’s an entire week dedicated to the world’s Uncontacted Indigenous peoples, during which we’ll share stories, updates, and urgent actions.
A week ago, Survival and Canopee called out Eramet at their AGM to warn shareholders that the French company is threatening the survival of the uncontacted Hongana Manyawa people in Indonesia.
