In my opinion, the Iranian team's hardships, uncertainties, pains, aspirations, and ambitions often mirror the experiences of Iranians themselves. They are part of the same story, with all its tensions, contradictions, moments of celebration, perseverance, sorrow, and joy. 7/9
This is perhaps both the beauty and the tragedy of international sport and major tournaments. They remind us that while many of our aspirations may be similar, we are not all cut from the same cloth. 8/9
Just as the nation itself is multifaceted, the players & staff have their own experiences, backgrounds, values, & aspirations. That diversity is not a weakness. It can at times create tension, but it should be welcomed as a reflection of the complex nature of the global Iranian community. 4/9
A healthy society is not the one where everyone thinks alike, carries the same banners, or cherishes identical symbols, but one in which different viewpoints can coexist without exclusion or hostility. 6/9
