Glad to see that I had already followed about half of those on this list.
One click of the button to follow the rest.
Thanks!!
By @philippeauclair.bsky.social . Why pay somebody to [possibly break FIFA rules] to be your brand ambassador when you can simply vibe a video of them being your brand ambassador? For a lot of these sites it doesn't even increase meaningfully their list of crimes.
Worth pairing with... 1/
Not all the journalists featured in this pack are "investigative" in the strict sense of the world (though most are); but those who are not still cover football news in depth and aren't afraid to dig further than most others when it must be done.
I thought it'd be a swell idea to create a starter pack of journalists who specialise in throwing light on the dark(er) side of football. It's small for two reasons: there aren't many of us; and I've probably forgotten plenty of excellent people. Thank you for suggesting additions in replies.

One thing will always surprise me: why do UK media which follow our work (many do) not pick up on our stories? I'd have thought "Ed Sheeran to make £££££ from World Cup "charity" record" pretty much wrote itself, but no. Ha well, we'll carry on.
Posting this as re-tellings of the story that never was are washing all over the web at the moment. Some guy has posted and is promoting a Spotify playlist related to it, making sure that Cape Verde musicians never make a penny from their work.

Thank you for your suggestions! The group has grown quite spectacularly thanks to them since this afternoon. Do check this pack again!
There is a book to be written about this - a book about the birth of a myth, as there is zero evidence that that "ghost ship" ever existed, or sank, or that synths were washed ashore. There is also a book to be written about the Cape Verde music scene which wouldn't reduce it to a cargo cult.
Confirmation by the excellent @remidupre.bsky.social of @lemonde.fr that the Fifa Council was *not* consulted by Gianni Infantino for the award of the "Fifa Peace Prize" to D.J. Trump, a gross violation of Fifa statutes which, in a 'normal' Fifa, should see him investigated and punished.
'Normal'.

New for @josimarfootball.bsky.social: Fifa's favourite megastar Shakira will perform her new WC "anthem" "Dai Dai" at the opening ceremony tomorrow. All proceeds to go to charity? No, despite the pledges: she and her co-writers, including Ed Sheeran, stand to make a small fortune from the song.
