In today's VOLT-all meeting we learnt about a cool model moss system to study interactions between mosses and cyanobacteria. Thomas Ammitsøe reported exciting findings related to nitrogen cycling in the system. We look forward to hearing what volatile signals are exchanged between the organisms.
At today's volt-all there was cake, and Neel's PhD status presentation on soil VOCs.
How does forest dieback affect the atmosphere around it?
A new study led by VOLT PhD Student @martacontreras.bsky.social has just been published, exploring the impact of snow gum dieback on VOC emissions: doi.org/10.1029/2025...
We also made a short video to help illustrate this study.🌳☁️
