This talk will discuss the results of the 2022 community archaeology project at Lullingstone Castle, undertaken as part of the Darent Valley Landscape Partnership Scheme. It will cover how geophysical survey and environmental archaeology in particular were able to provide more insight into the early history of the original medieval manor house at Lullingstone and its development as a moated site, as well as the evolution of its historic gardens in the late post medieval period.
