Don’t forget! Tomorrow, 18th June at 7pm we’re joined by Dr Anne Sassin for our latest online talk. Lullingstone Castle 2022 community project Discover how geophysical survey and environmental archaeology revealed new insights into the medieval manor, moated site development, and historic gardens.
1d
This talk will discuss the results of the 2022 community archaeology project at Lullingstone Castle, undertaken as part of the Darent Valley Landscape Partnership Scheme. It will cover how geophysical survey and environmental archaeology in particular were able to provide more insight into the early history of the original medieval manor house at Lullingstone and its development as a moated site, as well as the evolution of its historic gardens in the late post medieval period.
